| Once we receive a request for an estimate we visit the site and write up a proposal. (Prior to starting any job, we first will inspect each site.) At the site we first will remove the filler cap. Then we put a small amount of water-reactive paste on the end of the measuring tape and insert the tape into the tank. If there is oil in the tank, we will be able to see it on the measuring tape and if there is water in the tank (the water will settle to the bottom and the oil will float on top). At the same time we will measure your tank to find out what size tank you have. Some prices reflect the size of the tank. If you are unable to be home at the time for an estimate we will mail or fax to your the estimate along with information regarding decommissioning residential underground heating oil tanks and permit information, where permits are applicable. |
